This past week the Onondaga County Courthouse hosted a Women in Law program presented by the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and the Central New York Women’s Bar Association. The event provided an exciting educational and mentorship opportunity for Proctor High School students, bringing legal professionals together to share insight into the many career pathways within the legal field.
Students heard from dynamic members of the legal community, including justices from Supreme, Family and local courts, as well as law clerks, attorneys, mediators, stenographers, legislators and court officers. Panelists discussed their professional journeys, experiences in the legal system and the importance of advancing opportunities for women in the legal profession. The program offered students valuable exposure to careers in law while encouraging them to consider future roles in the justice system.
